$$△ADE\sim △AEC$$$$\therefore \frac{y}{6}=\frac{24}{y}\Rightarrow y=\sqrt{6\times 24}=12$$$$Area△ABC=\frac{1}{2}\times BC\times y$$$$=\frac{1}{2}\times 48\times 12=288squnit$$
