$$\mathcal{T}otalwalktothesouth=9+3=12$$$$\mathcal{T}otalwalktotheeast=2+7=9$$$$Distancefrominitialposition$$$$=\sqrt{{12}^2+9^2}=15\mathrm{blocks}$$
