compare the following numbers ((12)/(15)) ,(3/5)

$${compare}\:{the}\:{following}\:{numbers}\:\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}\:,\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}} \\ $$

((12)/(15)) = (4/5) > (3/5) ⇒ ((12)/(15)) > (3/5)

$$\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}\:=\:\frac{\mathrm{4}}{\mathrm{5}}\:>\:\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}}\:\Rightarrow\:\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}\:>\:\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}} \\ $$

((12)/(15))  ? (3/5)  ((12)/(15))  > (9/(15))  ∴ ((12)/(15)) >(3/5)

$$\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}\:\:?\:\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}} \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}\:\:>\:\frac{\mathrm{9}}{\mathrm{15}} \\ $$$$\therefore\:\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}\:>\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}} \\ $$

((12)/(15))×100=80%  (3/5)×100=60%  80% >60%  ⇒((12)/(15))>(3/5)

$$\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}×\mathrm{100}=\mathrm{80\%} \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}}×\mathrm{100}=\mathrm{60\%} \\ $$$$\mathrm{80\%}\:>\mathrm{60\%} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow\frac{\mathrm{12}}{\mathrm{15}}>\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{5}} \\ $$
