Calculate  Σ_(k=0) ^(2000) i^k ,  Σ_(k=0) ^(2002) (−1)^k

Σ_(k=0) ^(2000)  i^k =((1−i^(2001) )/(1−i))=((1+i)/2)(1−i^(2000) .i)=((1+i)/2)(1−(i^2 )^(1000) i)  =((1+i)/2)(1−i)=(2/2)=1  and  Σ_(k=0) ^(2002) (−1)^k  =((1−(−1)^(2003) )/2) =((1−(−1)^(2000) (−1)^3 )/2) =(2/2)=1
