In long jump, does it matter how high  you jump? What factors determine the  span of the jump?

 it is the height that increases  the time span to move forward,  and a higher forward velocity  takes a greater distance forward  in a given time span.  so initial velocity need be shared  wisely along a forward , and a  vertical component.
