x^2 =17x+y...(i)  y^2 =x+17y...(ii)  (i)−(ii):  ■  x^2 −y^2 =16x−16y  ⇔ (x+y)(x−y)=16(x−y)                 ⇔ (x+y)=16  ■  x^2 +y^2 =18x+18y  ⇔ x^2 +y^2 =18(x+y)  ⇔ x^2 +y^2 =18∙(16)  ⇔ x^2 +y^2 =288  ⇔ x^2 +y^2 +1=288+1  ⇔ x^2 +y^2 +1=289  ∴ (√(x^2 +y^2 +1))= (√(289))= 17
