$$\mathrm{law}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{adding}\mathrm{fractions}$$$$\frac{o}{p}+\frac{q}{r}=\frac{o\times r}{p\times r}+\frac{p\times q}{p\times r}=\frac{o\times r+p\times q}{p\times r}$$$$\frac{2}{Z}=\frac{1}{a}+\frac{1}{b}$$$$\frac{2}{Z}=\frac{a+b}{a\times b}$$$$\frac{Z}{2}=\frac{a\times b}{a+b}$$$$Z=\frac{2\times a\times b}{a+b}$$
