Will the masses accelerate at 3.26m/s^2 .

$$\mathrm{Will}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{masses}\:\mathrm{accelerate}\:\mathrm{at}\:\:\:\mathrm{3}.\mathrm{26m}/\mathrm{s}^{\mathrm{2}} . \\ $$

(M+m)a=Mg−μmg ⇒a=((Mg−μmg)/(M+m))=4.9m/s^2 I′m not sure if it′s right.

$$\left(\mathrm{M}+\mathrm{m}\right)\mathrm{a}=\mathrm{Mg}−\mu\mathrm{mg} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow\mathrm{a}=\frac{\mathrm{Mg}−\mu\mathrm{mg}}{\mathrm{M}+\mathrm{m}}=\mathrm{4}.\mathrm{9m}/\mathrm{s}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$$\mathrm{I}'\mathrm{m}\:\mathrm{not}\:\mathrm{sure}\:\mathrm{if}\:\mathrm{it}'\mathrm{s}\:\mathrm{right}. \\ $$
