Question Number 168548 by Tawa11 last updated on 13/Apr/22

Answered by mr W last updated on 13/Apr/22

l=length of spring without load  x=length of spring under 2N load  ((25−l)/5)=((30−l)/(10))=((x−l)/2)  ⇒(5/5)=((x−25)/(−3))  ⇒x=22

$${l}={length}\:{of}\:{spring}\:{without}\:{load} \\ $$$${x}={length}\:{of}\:{spring}\:{under}\:\mathrm{2}{N}\:{load} \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{25}−{l}}{\mathrm{5}}=\frac{\mathrm{30}−{l}}{\mathrm{10}}=\frac{{x}−{l}}{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow\frac{\mathrm{5}}{\mathrm{5}}=\frac{{x}−\mathrm{25}}{−\mathrm{3}} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{x}=\mathrm{22} \\ $$
