$$ \\ $$ charis wants to resize a 4 inch by 6 inch photo by a factor of 4/3. what are the dimensions of the new photo?\\n

Answered by nikif99 last updated on 19/Jun/22

Multiply each dimension by (√(4/3)) New height=4∙(√(4/3))=((8(√3))/3) New width=6∙(√(4/3))=4(√3) Resized=(((8(√3))/3))∙(4(√3))=32

$${Multiply}\:{each}\:{dimension}\:{by}\:\sqrt{\frac{\mathrm{4}}{\mathrm{3}}} \\ $$ $${New}\:{height}=\mathrm{4}\centerdot\sqrt{\frac{\mathrm{4}}{\mathrm{3}}}=\frac{\mathrm{8}\sqrt{\mathrm{3}}}{\mathrm{3}} \\ $$ $${New}\:{width}=\mathrm{6}\centerdot\sqrt{\frac{\mathrm{4}}{\mathrm{3}}}=\mathrm{4}\sqrt{\mathrm{3}} \\ $$ $${Resized}=\left(\frac{\mathrm{8}\sqrt{\mathrm{3}}}{\mathrm{3}}\right)\centerdot\left(\mathrm{4}\sqrt{\mathrm{3}}\right)=\mathrm{32} \\ $$
