The deviations of a set of numbers  from 12 are        3, −2, 1, 0, −1, 4, 0, 1 and 2.  Calculate the mean and standard   deviation of the numbers.

(12−a_1 )+(12−a_2 )+(12−a_3 )+...+(12−a_9 )       = 3+(−2)+1+ 0+(−1)+ 4+ 0+1+2=8  12×9−(a_1 +a_2 +...+a_9 )=8  a_1 +a_2 +...+a_9 =108−8=100  mean=((a_1 +a_2 +...+a_9 )/9)=((100)/9)

(12a1)+(12a2)+(12a3)+...+(12a9)=3+(2)+1+0+(1)+4+0+1+2=812×9(a1+a2+...+a9)=8a1+a2+...+a9=1088=100mean=a1+a2+...+a99=1009
