I watch a favorite TV program daily for 30 min.   If there were ads every 3 hours, what′s the   probability that i will see ads once again the next   day while watching that program?

p=(8/(48))=(1/6) ?

We make 3 hours as 6 domains for the 30 minutes   represent one domain, the probab. of the event    occurring is one of these 6 domains.  well, please show me your method

It seems that the 48 represent 2 days and the 8   represent number of times ads per day,   right or something else?

i divide one day (24h) into 48 equal  sections with length 30 min for each.  the ads come every 3 hours, that means  8 times every day. that means: in 8  of the 48 sections there are ads.   when we watch TV for 30 min in a   day,  we take one from the 48   sections, so the probability that it has   ads is (8/(48))=(1/6).

$${i}\:{divide}\:{one}\:{day}\:\left(\mathrm{24}{h}\right)\:{into}\:\mathrm{48}\:{equal} \\ $$$${sections}\:{with}\:{length}\:\mathrm{30}\:{min}\:{for}\:{each}. \\ $$$${the}\:{ads}\:{come}\:{every}\:\mathrm{3}\:{hours},\:{that}\:{means} \\ $$$$\mathrm{8}\:{times}\:{every}\:{day}.\:{that}\:{means}:\:{in}\:\mathrm{8} \\ $$$${of}\:{the}\:\mathrm{48}\:{sections}\:{there}\:{are}\:{ads}.\: \\ $$$${when}\:{we}\:{watch}\:{TV}\:{for}\:\mathrm{30}\:{min}\:{in}\:{a}\: \\ $$$${day},\:\:{we}\:{take}\:{one}\:{from}\:{the}\:\mathrm{48}\: \\ $$$${sections},\:{so}\:{the}\:{probability}\:{that}\:{it}\:{has}\: \\ $$$${ads}\:{is}\:\frac{\mathrm{8}}{\mathrm{48}}=\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{6}}. \\ $$
