∵KK & KLK have same unit-digit  ∴K^2 =10c+K ; c=0,1,2,...,8  possible values for K:  K=1,5,6  KK=11,55,66  Only 11×11 is 3-digit number  ∴ KK=11  KK^2 =121⇒L=2  K+L=1+2=3

$$\because\mathrm{KK}\:\&\:\mathrm{KLK}\:\mathrm{have}\:\mathrm{same}\:\mathrm{unit}-\mathrm{digit} \\ $$$$\therefore\mathrm{K}^{\mathrm{2}} =\mathrm{10c}+\mathrm{K}\:;\:\mathrm{c}=\mathrm{0},\mathrm{1},\mathrm{2},...,\mathrm{8} \\ $$$$\mathrm{possible}\:\mathrm{values}\:\mathrm{for}\:\mathrm{K}: \\ $$$$\mathrm{K}=\mathrm{1},\mathrm{5},\mathrm{6} \\ $$$$\mathrm{KK}=\mathrm{11},\mathrm{55},\mathrm{66} \\ $$$$\mathrm{Only}\:\mathrm{11}×\mathrm{11}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{3}-\mathrm{digit}\:\mathrm{number} \\ $$$$\therefore\:\mathrm{KK}=\mathrm{11} \\ $$$$\mathrm{KK}^{\mathrm{2}} =\mathrm{121}\Rightarrow\mathrm{L}=\mathrm{2} \\ $$$$\mathrm{K}+\mathrm{L}=\mathrm{1}+\mathrm{2}=\mathrm{3} \\ $$
