A+C=A+B ⇒C=B A+C+E=B+D=half of square ⇒A+E=D=((4×5)/2)=10 ✓

$${A}+{C}={A}+{B} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{C}={B} \\ $$$${A}+{C}+{E}={B}+{D}={half}\:{of}\:{square} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{A}+{E}={D}=\frac{\mathrm{4}×\mathrm{5}}{\mathrm{2}}=\mathrm{10}\:\checkmark \\ $$
