$$AD=FQ=\sqrt{{(4+1)}^2-{(4-1)}^2}=4$$$$CE=CD=x-4$$$$CB=\sqrt{8^2+x^2}$$$$EB=\sqrt{8^2+x^2}-x+4$$$${QB}^2=4^2+7^2=1^2+{(\sqrt{8^2+x^2}-x+4)}^2$$$$\sqrt{8^2+x^2}-x+4=8$$$$\sqrt{8^2+x^2}=4+x$$$$x^2+64=x^2+8x+16$$$$\Rightarrow x=6✓$$
