what is the difference between  d^2 x and (dx)^2

$${what}\:{is}\:{the}\:{difference}\:{between} \\ $$$${d}^{\mathrm{2}} {x}\:{and}\:\left({dx}\right)^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$

d^2 x = d(dx)  (dx)^2 =(dx)×(dx)

$${d}^{\mathrm{2}} {x}\:=\:{d}\left({dx}\right) \\ $$$$\left({dx}\right)^{\mathrm{2}} =\left({dx}\right)×\left({dx}\right) \\ $$
