$$a=BD,b=EC$$$$generally{x}^2=a^2+b^2-ab$$$$x=\sqrt{3^2+8^2-3\times 8}=7$$

$$make\mathrm{\Delta }{AE}^{\prime }B\equiv \mathrm{\Delta }AEC$$$$\mathrm{\Delta }{ADE}^{\prime }\equiv \mathrm{\Delta }ADE$$$$DE={DE}^{\prime }$$$$x^2=a^2+b^2-2ab\cos 60°=a^2+b^2-ab$$$$\Rightarrow x=\sqrt{3^2+8^2-3\times 8}=7$$
