$$\cos (A-B)=\frac{4^2+x^2-{(5-x)}^2}{2\times 4\times x}=\frac{7}{8}$$$$\Rightarrow x=3$$$$\cos C=\frac{4^2+2^2-3^2}{2\times 4\times 2}=\frac{11}{16}✓$$
