$$\frac{4^x}{9^x}=9$$$${\left(\frac{2}{3}\right)}^{2x}=3^2$$$${\left(\frac{2}{3}\right)}^x=3$$$$x\log \left(\frac{2}{3}\right)=\log 3$$$$\Rightarrow x=\frac{\log 3}{\log 2-\log 3}\approx -2.7095$$
