$$AM=MD=a\Rightarrow BC=\frac{2}{3}a$$$$\frac{s}{S}=\frac{\frac{BC\times h}{2}}{\frac{(BC+AD)h}{2}}=\frac{BC}{BC+AD}=\frac{\frac{2}{3}a}{2a+\frac{2}{3}a}$$$$=\frac{1}{4}✓$$$$$$
