Ato  starts a business with $1,250.00. Ama joins the business  later with a capital of 1,875.00. At the   end of the first year, profits are shared equally  between Ato and Ama. When did Ama  join the business?

Let x be the average monthly profit(in % of   capital). If it is the same for both Ato and Ama  Then Ato′s profit is 12x×1250;   and Ama′s profit=kx×1875  (where k is the number of months Ama used)  12x×1250=kx×1875⇒k=8  ⇒Ama joined the business after the 12−8=4th  month.
