f(1)=2=1+1  f(2)=3=2+1  f(3)=4=3+1  f(4)=5=4+1  we can see  f(x)=x+1+g(x) with   g(x) = polynomial of 4^(th)  degree and  g(1)=g(2)=g(3)=g(4)=0  ⇒g(x)=A(x−1)(x−2)(x−3)(x−4)  f(x)=x+1+A(x−1)(x−2)(x−3)(x−4)  f(0)=1+A(−1)(−2)(−3)(−3)=1+24A=25   ⇒A=1  ⇒f(x)=x+1+(x−1)(x−2)(x−3)(x−4)  f(5)=5+1+4×3×2×1=30 ✓

thanks sir!  f(1),f(2),f(3),f(4) all agree the pattern: f(x)=x+1  but f(0)=24 disagrees. Then why in general the  pattern f(x)=x+1 is made?

we can not say f(x)=x+1. but we  can say  f(x)=x+1+A(x−1)(x−2)(x−3)(x−4)
