When a system of forces acts on  a body moving in a circular path  what happens to the resultant  force when:  1)there′s no friction  2)there′s friction

I mean what are the necessary  conditions on the moving body.

Another thing please: in what  direction does the frictional  force acts when the body undergoes  this motion.    If necessary please use diagrams.    Thanks.
