atmosphere applies bouyant force   and bouyant force is always upward  ..so removing atmp will reduce   bouyant force which acts upward..  dont consider that wt of air is   pushing it down..... i think so

actually bouyant force always act upward  so on moon atmosphere vanishes  and hence a little relief from upward  force....and effects of acc due to gravity  changes everywhere accordingly

A ball floats on the surface of water in a container exposed to atmosphere. Will the ball remain immersed at its initial depth or will it sink or rise some what if the container is shifted to moon?

Atmospheric pressure pushes downwards this is very large why you ignored this?

i dnt knw reason exactly but u may  check on internet... i have heard   about it

Yes answer is sink. I don't understand if atmospheric pressure vanishes so downward force reduces so it should come little upward.
