y= (2x+3) + (7/((x+3))) .  this is hint given!

$$\mathrm{y}=\:\left(\mathrm{2}{x}+\mathrm{3}\right)\:+\:\frac{\mathrm{7}}{\left({x}+\mathrm{3}\right)}\:. \\ $$$$\mathrm{this}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{hint}\:\mathrm{given}! \\ $$

i want to know how does this form comes to our mind? after seeing q. any other method??

we have to check for pairs of integers, so in this case where the given equation is linear for y but of degree 2 for x, it′s easier to solve for y instead of trying pairs for x and y. with the given hint we see that y is integer only if (7/(x+3)) is integer. x=−10∨x=−4∨x=−2∨x=4 (x,y)=(−10,−18)∨(−4,−12)∨(−2,6)∨(4,12)
