$$2x^2+x+3=0$$$$a=2b=1c=3$$$$D=b^2-4ac=-23$$$$x=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{D}}{2a}$$$$=\frac{-1\pm \sqrt{-23}}{4}$$$$=\frac{-1}{4}\pm \frac{\sqrt{23}}{4}i$$
