log u=a  log v=b  log s=c  log t=d  all we need is log (p/q)=log p−log q  (a−b)(c−d)=(a−c)(b−d)+(a−d)(c−b)  (a−b)(c−d)=ab−bc−ad+cd+ac−ab−cd+bd  (a−b)(c−d)=ac−bc−ad+bd  true

is not clear to me. please do the workings clearly

what′s not clear?  1. I used a, b, c, d instead of  log u, log v, log s, log t to save  time and space  2. log (p/q)=log p−log q is true  for all p, q>0 ⇒ log (u/v)=log u−log v...  the rest is just multiplicating...
