A particle, of mass 5kg,moves in  a straight line its displacement,x  metres after t seconds is given by  x = t^3 − 4t^2 +4t. Find  the magnitude  of the impulses exerted on the particle  when t=2.

(dx/dt)=3t^2 −8t+4  (d^2 x/dt^2 )=6t−8  impulse=∫_0 ^2 5(6t−8)dt  =∣30(t^2 /2)−40t∣_0 ^2   =15×4−80=−20  or  5∣3t^2 −8t+4∣_0 ^2   5(12−16+4−4)=−20  velocity at t=2sec  3×2^2 −8×2+4=0 m/sec

$$\frac{{dx}}{{dt}}=\mathrm{3}{t}^{\mathrm{2}} −\mathrm{8}{t}+\mathrm{4} \\ $$$$\frac{{d}^{\mathrm{2}} {x}}{{dt}^{\mathrm{2}} }=\mathrm{6}{t}−\mathrm{8} \\ $$$${impulse}=\int_{\mathrm{0}} ^{\mathrm{2}} \mathrm{5}\left(\mathrm{6}{t}−\mathrm{8}\right){dt} \\ $$$$=\mid\mathrm{30}\frac{{t}^{\mathrm{2}} }{\mathrm{2}}−\mathrm{40}{t}\mid_{\mathrm{0}} ^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$$=\mathrm{15}×\mathrm{4}−\mathrm{80}=−\mathrm{20} \\ $$$${or} \\ $$$$\mathrm{5}\mid\mathrm{3}{t}^{\mathrm{2}} −\mathrm{8}{t}+\mathrm{4}\mid_{\mathrm{0}} ^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$$\mathrm{5}\left(\mathrm{12}−\mathrm{16}+\mathrm{4}−\mathrm{4}\right)=−\mathrm{20} \\ $$$${velocity}\:{at}\:{t}=\mathrm{2}{sec} \\ $$$$\mathrm{3}×\mathrm{2}^{\mathrm{2}} −\mathrm{8}×\mathrm{2}+\mathrm{4}=\mathrm{0}\:{m}/{sec} \\ $$

how about the   velocity of the paticle when  t=2
