$$10\mathbf{men}\mathbf{had}\mathbf{the}\mathbf{work}\mathbf{of}\mathbf{cultivating}$$$$\mathbf{a}\mathbf{farm}\mathbf{for}18\mathbf{days}.\mathbf{when}\frac{1}{3}$$$$\mathbf{of}\mathbf{work}\mathbf{was}\mathbf{done}6\mathbf{men}\mathbf{were}\mathbf{reduced}.$$$$\mathbf{for}\mathbf{how}\mathbf{long}\mathbf{was}\mathbf{the}\mathbf{work}\mathbf{of}\mathbf{cultivating}\mathbf{the}\mathbf{farm}\mathbf{done}?$$

$$\mathrm{the}\mathrm{work}=w$$$$w=10m\times 18d=180md$$$$\frac{1}{3}w=60md\Rightarrow 10\mathrm{men}\mathrm{worked}6\mathrm{days}$$$$180md-60md=120md\mathrm{is}\mathrm{left}$$$$4m\times xd=120md\Rightarrow x=30\Rightarrow 4\mathrm{men}\mathrm{worked}30\mathrm{days}$$$$\mathrm{the}\mathrm{work}\mathrm{was}\mathrm{done}\mathrm{within}36\mathrm{days}$$
