−5−x=3⇒−x=3−(−5) −(−x)=−3−[−(−5)] x=−3−5=−8 −5−(−8)=3 −5+8=3

$$−\mathrm{5}−{x}=\mathrm{3}\Rightarrow−{x}=\mathrm{3}−\left(−\mathrm{5}\right) \\ $$$$−\left(−{x}\right)=−\mathrm{3}−\left[−\left(−\mathrm{5}\right)\right] \\ $$$${x}=−\mathrm{3}−\mathrm{5}=−\mathrm{8} \\ $$$$−\mathrm{5}−\left(−\mathrm{8}\right)=\mathrm{3} \\ $$$$−\mathrm{5}+\mathrm{8}=\mathrm{3} \\ $$
