Answered by MJS last updated on 14/Aug/18

m=4d  b=d+6  b:d:e=5:3:2  e=(2/3)d    ((d+6)/d)=(5/3)  3d+18=5d  d=9  ⇒ b=15, e=6  m=36  she was 36−15=21 when benson was born

$${m}=\mathrm{4}{d} \\ $$$${b}={d}+\mathrm{6} \\ $$$${b}:{d}:{e}=\mathrm{5}:\mathrm{3}:\mathrm{2} \\ $$$${e}=\frac{\mathrm{2}}{\mathrm{3}}{d} \\ $$$$ \\ $$$$\frac{{d}+\mathrm{6}}{{d}}=\frac{\mathrm{5}}{\mathrm{3}} \\ $$$$\mathrm{3}{d}+\mathrm{18}=\mathrm{5}{d} \\ $$$${d}=\mathrm{9} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow\:{b}=\mathrm{15},\:{e}=\mathrm{6} \\ $$$${m}=\mathrm{36} \\ $$$$\mathrm{she}\:\mathrm{was}\:\mathrm{36}−\mathrm{15}=\mathrm{21}\:\mathrm{when}\:\mathrm{benson}\:\mathrm{was}\:\mathrm{born} \\ $$
