 why velocity of image in x&y  plane remained same as that of object??

from a mirror parallel to x-y  plane only the v_z   of  image can undergo a change,  (think yourself, obvious but  difficult for me to explain, i  haven′t even used this fact).

I want to know how mirror is parallel  to x−y plane? In the ques. it has   velocity in all 3 perpendicular axes!

linear velocity has nothing to do  with orientation (here).
