$$1.7x-0.17=1.2x+0.12$$$$1.7x-1.2x=0.12+0.17$$$$0.5x=0.29$$$$x=\frac{0.29}{0.5}=\frac{29\times 10}{100\times 5}=\frac{29\times 2}{100}=0.58$$

$$bycomponendo\mathrm{\&}dividendo$$$$\frac{x-0.1+x+0.1}{x-0.1-x-0.1}=\frac{1.2+1.7}{1.2-1.7}$$$$\frac{2x}{-0.2}=\frac{2.9}{-0.5}$$$$x=\frac{29}{5}\times 0.1=0.58$$
