let C=cost of tv set 760=1.20C ⇒C=((760)/(1.20)) ((0.95×760)/((760)/(1.20)))=0.95×1.20=1.14 i.e. when the tv set is sold at a discount of 5%, the profit percentage is 14%.

$${let}\:{C}={cost}\:{of}\:{tv}\:{set} \\ $$$$\mathrm{760}=\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{20}{C} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{C}=\frac{\mathrm{760}}{\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{20}} \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{95}×\mathrm{760}}{\frac{\mathrm{760}}{\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{20}}}=\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{95}×\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{20}=\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{14} \\ $$$${i}.{e}.\:{when}\:{the}\:{tv}\:{set}\:{is}\:{sold}\:{at}\:{a}\:{discount} \\ $$$${of}\:\:\mathrm{5\%},\:{the}\:{profit}\:{percentage}\:{is}\:\mathrm{14\%}. \\ $$
