$$x^2+2x+1=0$$$$\Rightarrow {(x+1)}^2=0$$$$\Rightarrow x=-1$$

$$\mathrm{\Delta }={\left(2\right)}^2-4\left(1\right)\left(1\right)=4-4=0$$$$x=\frac{-\left(2\right)\pm \sqrt{0}}{2\left(1\right)}=-\frac{2}{2}=-1$$
