Question Number 58374 by azizullah last updated on 22/Apr/19

Answered by mr W last updated on 22/Apr/19

(y+13)(y+a)=y^2 +(13+a)y+13a 13+a=0 ⇒a=−13

$$\left({y}+\mathrm{13}\right)\left({y}+{a}\right)={y}^{\mathrm{2}} +\left(\mathrm{13}+{a}\right){y}+\mathrm{13}{a} \\ $$$$\mathrm{13}+{a}=\mathrm{0} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{a}=−\mathrm{13} \\ $$
