Answered by FilupSmith last updated on 06/Jun/16

Are of non shaded:  A_1 =(1/2)r(θ−sin θ)  ∴Total Area:  A=πr^2 −(1/2)r(θ−sin θ)  radius = 10:  A=100π−5(θ−sin θ)    θ = angle of non shaded part

$${Are}\:{of}\:{non}\:{shaded}: \\ $$$${A}_{\mathrm{1}} =\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}{r}\left(\theta−\mathrm{sin}\:\theta\right) \\ $$$$\therefore\mathrm{Total}\:\mathrm{A}{rea}: \\ $$$${A}=\pi{r}^{\mathrm{2}} −\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}{r}\left(\theta−\mathrm{sin}\:\theta\right) \\ $$$${radius}\:=\:\mathrm{10}: \\ $$$${A}=\mathrm{100}\pi−\mathrm{5}\left(\theta−\mathrm{sin}\:\theta\right) \\ $$$$ \\ $$$$\theta\:=\:{angle}\:{of}\:{non}\:{shaded}\:{part} \\ $$
