min/max at f′(x)=0 to sketch it we also need the zeros zeros x^2 −8x+7=0 x=−(p/2)±(√((p^2 /4)−q)) p=−8; q=7 x=4±(√(16−7)) x_1 =1 x_2 =7 min f′(x)=2x−8=0 ⇒ x=4 f′′(x)=2>0 ⇒ minimum at ((4),((−9)) ) now sketch it
