$$\mathrm{If},\log {\mathrm{x}}^{\mathrm{y}}=6\mathrm{and}\log {14\mathrm{x}}^{8\mathrm{y}}=3\mathrm{then}\mathrm{find}$$$$\mathrm{the}\mathrm{value}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{x},\mathrm{y}.$$

$$\log x^y=6\Rightarrow y\log x=6$$$$\log 14x^{8y}=3\Rightarrow \log 14+8y\log x=3$$$$\mathrm{let}y\log x=z$$$$z=6$$$$z=\frac{3-\log 14}{8}$$$$\Rightarrow \mathrm{no}\mathrm{solution}$$
