${l i m}_{x \to \frac{1}{2}} f (x) = {l i m}_{x \to \frac{1}{2}} \frac{(2 x - 1) (2 x + 1)}{2 x - 1} = {l i m}_{x \to \frac{1}{2}} (2 x + 1) = 2$
