$$\sin \theta =\frac{h}{L},\cos \theta =\frac{D}{L}$$$$\Rightarrow D=L\cos \theta$$$$L-D=L-L\cos \theta =L(1-\cos \theta )$$$$=\frac{L(1-\cos {}^2\theta )}{1+\cos \theta }=\frac{L\frac{h^2}{L^2}}{1+\frac{D}{L}}=\frac{h^2}{L}\times \frac{L}{L+D}$$$$=\frac{h^2}{L+D}$$$$tobecontinue$$$$$$
