I started trying the next stage  x[x[x[x]]]  but it′s getting very complex

i think there is a typo  if i=2 k=1  10≤n≤15

you are wrong because also  q=i^2 +k  and  (k/i)≤f<((k+1)/i)  try it, you cannot get 10, 11, 12 as solution  it′s not easy to understand the jumps of  y=x[x[x]]
