$$\frac{x_1}{4}=\frac{x_2+6}{14}\Rightarrow 7x_1-2x_2=12...\left(i\right)$$$$\frac{x_1+4}{14}=\frac{x_2}{6}\Rightarrow 3x_1-7x_2=-12...\left(ii\right)$$$$\Rightarrow x_1=\frac{108}{43},x_2=\frac{120}{43}$$$$\Rightarrow x=x_1+x_2=\frac{228}{43}$$
