x− Number of adults who attended  y − Number of children who attended  Given that total number of people  attended=800.  x+y=800         (I)    Amount collected from adults=100x  Amount collected from children=50y  Given that total amount collected 70000  100x+50y=700  (II)    From (I)  y=800−x    substitute y in equation II  100x+50(800−x)=70000  100x+40000−50x=70000  50x+40000=70000  50x=70000−40000=30000  x=((30000)/(50))=600  I will leave finding value of y as  an exercise for you.
