General linear equation: y=mx+c  where m is the constant slope  For ∣x∣, the slope is not constant, so it is not   linear - but it could  be “divided” into linear parts.  ∣x∣= { ((x when x≥0)),((−x when x<0)) :}  So, the slope is not constant, could be 1 or −1.
