$$a^2(a+1)+b^2(b+1)+5ab$$$$=a^3+b^3+a^2+b^2+5ab$$$$={(a+b)}^3-3ab(a+b)+{(a+b)}^2+3ab$$$$=1-3ab+1+3ab$$$$=2$$
