ΔBDA∼ΔBAC  ((BD)/(AB))=((AB)/(BC))  ⇒BD×BC=AB^2 =6^2   area BCE=((CE×BC)/2)=((BD×BC)/2)                        =(6^2 /2)=18

ΔBDAΔBACBDAB=ABBCBD×BC=AB2=62areaBCE=CE×BC2=BD×BC2=622=18

i thought in all world the symbol ∼   is used for similarity in geometry.
