$$\mathbf{the}\mathbf{granddaughter}\mathbf{is}\mathit{x}\mathbf{years}\mathbf{old}.$$$$\mathbf{then}\mathbf{we}\mathbf{get}:$$$$10x=x+54\Rightarrow$$$$9x=54\Rightarrow$$$$x=6$$$$\mathbf{so}\mathbf{the}\mathbf{grandfather}\mathbf{is}60\mathbf{years}\mathbf{old}.$$
