$$let\mathrm{\angle }DCB=\theta$$$$\Rightarrow \mathrm{\angle }DAB=\mathrm{\angle }CBA=\pi -\theta$$$$AB=EB=4$$$$DA=DE\left(given\right)$$$$\Rightarrow \mathrm{\angle }DEB=\mathrm{\angle }DAB=\pi -\theta$$$$\mathrm{\angle }DEC=\pi -\mathrm{\angle }DEB=\pi -(\pi -\theta )=\theta =\mathrm{\angle }DCE$$$$\Rightarrow DC=DE$$$$=DA=CB=5+4=9$$$$\Rightarrow x=9$$
