$$AD=DB=BE=a$$$$\frac{3}{a}=\frac{a}{7+3}$$$$\Rightarrow a^2=3\times (7+3)=30$$$$\frac{CF+4}{a}=\frac{a}{4}$$$$\Rightarrow CF=\frac{a^2}{4}-4=\frac{30}{4}-4=3.5✓$$
